• This area is for tutors to provide resources and forms for all Small Animal Care learners to use.
  • The First Diploma in Animal Care is taught on a full and part time basis. The course will cover a wide range of animal care issues including units on 'Animal Biology', Health, Welfare and Behaviour' and Animal Accommodation and Care.  It includes a period of work experience within the Animal Care Industry.
  • During the course learners will study in detail the different aspects of animal care this will include specialism subjects tailored to the needs and interest of learners and the animal care industry. Combined with their industrial placement the course will provide learners with valuable knowledge and skill to enter industry as well as higher education.

  • Distance Learning Course which comprises of Course Handbook, Workbook and Diary.  Information and trial quizzes will be available on Moodle.  Final assessments will involve practical assessments and a GOLA test.
  • This is a practical based course which is assessed through a portfolio of evidence.  This evidence is suppied in the form of a practical observations, photographic evidence and work sheets.

  • This course is part time for 1 year and is suitable for students seeking a career within the animal industry.

    This course is part time for 1 year. It is aimed at students intending to pursue a career as a canine beautician or for dog owners / breeders wishing to extend their knowledge of grooming or canine welfare.
  • Key Skills are taught throughout the Animal Care Dapartment to develop skills which are required by employers.
